Did you really mean "ever" as in always? You will ALWAYS agree with me on my view on church?

Bout time you came around, Bri! LOL!

I don't know what you mean by "glad that your job as a church leader speaks for me and my experience". Does it? Does what I did, and what I wrote about speak for you?

My main beef about church is that I just think there are so many of us who want something genuine and real but we know we don't have it and we don't know how to get it because what we're reading about, praying about, communing with God about just isn't the same as what we're getting.

Why is that? I have no idea. I just think the churches that I have been apart of were farther away from what I know "in my bones" to be right and real than they were closer to it.

But, I also want to be respectful of other people's views, ways of believing and practicing, too. Everyone has a right to what they believe, and I wouldn't hamper that - maybe challenge that in love, but I would support it, I think.

I'm cool with you not agreeing with me, Brian. If everyone agreed with my views, I'd have nothing whatsoever to say. I would expect someone of your faith to feel that way about me, and your post is a perfect case in point of my post.

Christianity is a lie? Is that how you read it? I asked a "what would you do if" hypothetical for the purpose of thinking -- why certain behaviors are rationalized.

Anyway, if Jesus were returning soon, I wouldn't give a hoot about global warming, healthcare, or planet earth either!

;)

Gary - Dang, you know that Jesus is coming back soon? How? When? Where? To what extent?

Toby (and others) - the problem isn't the church, it's you (and me).

What??!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought church *is* people.

In defense of Toby, he was speaking for himself, and he deserves a lot of creedence because of his experience as a pastor (neither you nor I have been in that position, Brian). Lets be reminded that this guy also has a MASTER'S DEGREE in theology -- for what it's worth. He's not just some joe-schmoe like me who rants about things and forgets about them the next day. He can back up anything he says, and he can do it with passion.

I'm just asking you to let him say what he has to say.

Yeah, what Gary said!

What problems do you and I have? Weird...

Unless you meant that philosophically you and I have problems and while I think the church is the problem you're saying I am...

However, through it all, the important stuff remains the important stuff - you are dead nuts on on your "do the opposite" stuff for Fantasy Football!
